What it actually is
An AI visibility audit is a check of whether a specific local business gets named when someone asks an AI assistant for that kind of trade nearby — for example asking ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI Overviews to recommend a plumber, electrician or HVAC pro "near me." It is not a search-engine ranking report and it is not a social-media audit. It is a record of what three AI assistants actually said, across multiple runs, about who they recommend in a given trade and area.
Who needs one: solo and small local trade businesses that depend on "near me" searches for leads, and who are starting to notice that leads are drying up from traditional Google rankings as AI assistants answer more of those searches directly. If an assistant never names you for your own trade and area, you have no way to know that from your own analytics — the only way to find out is to ask the assistants the same questions a prospective customer would.

What the audit checks: five fix categories
The report that comes out of the audit is built around five named fix categories — the same ones described in full on the report page:
- Review volume and recency. A trickle of old reviews gives an assistant less recent evidence to point to than a steady flow of new ones.
- Listing consistency. Name, address, phone and opening hours should match across every directory where the business appears.
- Review response coverage. Whether reviews are responded to, and how many are left unanswered.
- Service and area wording. Whether the services offered and the area served are actually written out on the listing, rather than left to be inferred.
- Structured business details. Whether categories, service area, hours and website link are filled in and match the website.
We don't invent new categories beyond these five — the full document structure is on the what you get page.
